James Conway (not to be confused with Australian blues harp player Jim Conway) is a celebrated harmonica player specialised in the irish folk genre. He has a superb record available called Mouth Box and you can find more about him on his Youtube page. Speaking of which, the following video shows him playing a bagpipe tune on the diatonic harmonica, maintaining a steady drone all the way through (gotta have a black belt in tongue-fu for that!) and then switching to a fast reel played in rack whith a rhythm part played simultaneously on the Bodhran Drum. The sound in the first part is quite low, so you need to turn it up if you want to hear it, but beware when the reel starts, it's much much louder!

I love Mouth Box- great CD- BUY IT.
I met James a few years ago at SPAH. He's a fantastic player and a generous soul. He made me an hour long instructional casette teaching me how to throat sing (while he was sick with a cold!)
He (& Pat Missin) also inspired me to learn to circular breath. I'm fairly certain he could drone till the end of time and do so with kick ass tone.
