In French a saw (une scie) is a word used not only to describe a tool and occasional musical instrument, it's also used to describe a classic that's been played to death and therefore (usually) bores to death as a consequence.

Alors là, je suis sciée (forcément!) !! C'est la première fois que je vois cette association si singulière de la mandoline et de l'harmonica, et quelle belle idée! Gros changement par rapport à la chanson napolitaine. Le tempo lent me plaît bien. Saint James Infirmary est l'un des tout premiers morceaux que je me suis amusée à jouer grâce au site Harmopoint, mais dans une version très élémentaire, plus aiguë, moins ...contemplative.
C'est une petite phrase que tu as inventée "How d'you make a saw sing"? Je la trouve particulièrement heureuse. On dirait un proverbe !

Oui, c'est modestement de moi, encore que seuls les francophones et -philes avertis peuvent comprendre... J'ai essayé de rencontrer Filip Jers quand j'étais en suède pour le boulot, mais il ne m'a jamais répondu...
