Joe Powers and Naoko Aoki play Tango

From his humble debuts, where the potential could be felt but the talent had to be honed to his performances today, only four years went by, but Joe Powers really has a feel for the tango now that I don't think anyone since Hugo Diaz had. I'm not saying he's better than Diaz, there's a depth of feeling in Diaz's playing that I suspect only life can teach you, but damn Joe's good. Check it out:

Session Americana - Mrs Murphy's Chowder

This is another video I shot during the Session Americana gig I attended in June. It's a very funny song and refers (for the non New-Englander's among you) to the delicious Boston culinary specialty, Clam Chowder. I will be in Boston for a full week in September and I hope to be able to catch these guys again.

Seb Charlier's Precious Time

A few months back I was lucky enough to be invited by Sébastien Charlier to attend the studio mixing of his next album Precious Time. Sébastien is a jazz diatonic player of the highest caliber and this album is an hommage to the 70s jazz fusion style that he loves.

Seb just released a video teaser for the album, and I'm very eager to hear the whole thing. Obviously, if you equate diatonic harmonica with blues, maybe it's better to skip this link. If not though, you're in for a shock!
